Demonstrations

There will be two demonstrations available throughout the entire symposium, running continuously in parallel with all other sessions over the three days.

They will be accessible mainly over the breaks.

Demo 1: Pics & Care – An Interactive, Universal, and Educational Visual Tool to Enhance Performance, Inclusivity, and Recognition of Caregivers in Healthcare Facilities

By Dr Thomas Côte, CEO and founder of Wever, France

A digital visual tool to support quality care reporting and ongoing training for assistant caregivers in medico-social institutions, helping them obtain their VAE (Validation of Acquired Experience).

Development of an educational SaaS software designed for assistant caregivers in medico-social facilities. The tool enables quality reporting through images. It supports French language learning, skills development, and preparation for the VAE (Validation of Acquired Experience). It also provides metrics to improve the quality of care.

3000 characters:
Qualified assistant caregivers are increasingly difficult to find in the medico-social sector. Training programs are being deserted. More and more people without a background in care are being hired as “acting” caregivers and trained on the job. Due to a lack of supervisory staff, this on-the-job training is often insufficient or non-existent. Additionally, many of these individuals struggle with the French language, especially writing, making it impossible to ensure quality care documentation—despite it being essential. As a result, the development of professional knowledge and skills is severely limited.

This situation puts elderly residents at risk and could lead to legal liability for the facility’s management. It also reduces the chances of success in obtaining the VAE, due to a lack of time for proper training.

We decided to offer a digital solution that allows acting assistant caregivers to:

•   Record care documentation in a simple, quick, and accurate way through a digital visual tool

•   Receive on-the-job educational support

•   Learn French and prepare for the VAE as part of their daily routine

Thanks to artificial intelligence and data processing, the digital tool also functions as a quality monitoring system, helping identify potential gaps in care and enabling targeted support for specific acting caregivers.

The tool, available on tablets for immediate accessibility, is currently being tested in EHPADs (nursing homes) in the Alpes-Maritimes region.

Key success indicators include:

•   An increase in both the quantity and quality of care documentation

•   A rise in the number of VAE candidates and higher success rates

•   A reduction in care-related adverse events in nursing homes

•   Greater satisfaction among acting assistant caregivers and the individuals they support

This innovative tool combines behavioural sciences, digital technology, and artificial intelligence.

Demo 2: Cohabitation in Motion – Learning Safe Interactions Between Pedestrians and Autonomous Agents

By Prof. ABBAS-TURKI Abdeljalil, University of Technology – Belfort-Montbéliard, France

A fully immersive setup, combining a traffic simulator with a virtual reality-based pedestrian data collection system, will illustrate scenarios of interactions between pedestrians and autonomous agents.
